Very unusual historical church scene oil painting c.1930. A young woman in medieval costume misses the church mass visible through the arch behind her to sit idly on a bench, her prayer book unopened beside her. Whilst to the right hand side of the canvas lurks a diabolical figure, the devil himself perhaps, dressed in red. Painted in naive style in oil on canvas. Good condition presented unframed on a simple wooden stretcher.
