Really nice chess board made by Jaques of London, in mahogany, walnut and satin birch. This board is in superb condition and only has one very small dent in it, see pictures. There is a green baise to the reverse. The pieces are not Jacks of London but fit the board very well and are good quality and weighted etc. You will see one of the pictures there is a missing piece of baise to the bottom, where are you can see the lead. I will replace this. The chess set is made from boxwood with the black place pieces ebonised. The king is 75 mm high and 30 mm wide. A pawn is 38 mm high and 21 mm wide. The squares are 35 mm. I would say the board and pieces are both first half of the 20th century.
