Alfred John Billinghurst RBA 1880-1956.Landscape and figure painter born in Blackheath,London.Studied at the Slade School of Art 1889-1902 where he came under the influence of Fred Brown and the English Impressionistic Movement which was then in its infancy.Studied at Juliens Paris1902 and at the Ecole des Beaux Arts.Exhibited principally at
RBA but also at R.A. and and elsewhere.Billinghurst was an excellent draughtsman and
colourist working very much in the manner of Monet and Sisley.He was a friend of Lucien
