1914 silver pocket watch from Harris Stone, Leeds.
The watch has a nicely jewelled key-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner cover.
The watch measures 53.7mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are import marks inside both of the case backs for London 1914 together with a case importers mark for Dimier Bothers & Co Ltd (Georges Dimier). The case has light surface marking from use and mild bruising to the back. There is also a vacant cartouche.
The acrylic lens is in nice condition.
The dial is signed H Stone, Leeds. The dial has a faint hairline crack between 11 & 12 o''clock and a small nibble to the edge at 12 o''clock but otherwise it is in nice condition. Harris Stone was born in Russia in 1863. He emigrated to the UK and set up a successful jewellery business within the city of Leeds, from where he traded until the post War years.
The watch has its original gold hands and blued steel sub seconds hand.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
