A fine landscape oil on canvas by Henry M. Cooper fl.1842-1872. The painting is a delightful scene of a cottage by a river at sunset. The work is technically highly competent, I particularly like the reflection in the river. Henry M. Cooper is not hugely well known though he did exhibit at the Royal Academy. and his works are desirable when they do come on the market. The painting is fully signed to the lower left and is excellent condition having been professionally cleaned. It is framed in a period frame they may be the original, it has a great worn look and is in excellent country house condition. A fine example of this type of work with a huge decorative appeal.
