This is a very attractive black lacquered Chinoiserie corner cabinet which dates from around 1910. The cabinet is exquisitely hand painted and gilded throughout with blossoms and birds, including colourful cockerels. The curved double doors have decorative hinges and handles and are delightfully handpainted in beautiful shades of gold and rich coral red. There is a shelf above the cabinet set against what appears to be a pair of phoenix birds in flight. Inside the cabinet has very pretty arrangement of shelves with drawers below. The cabinet is in excellent condition and would make an impression in any room.It measures 127 cms high, 80 cms wide and 50 cm deep.
