A boxed 1931 silver Record Dreadnought Trenton pocket watch and chain.
The watch has a stem-winding movement, signed Record Dreadnought Watch Factories, Trenton. Record was founded in 1903 and merged with several companies in 1916 to form Record Dreadnought Watch Co SA. This particular movement is working nicely. It is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch itself measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for Birmingham 1931 with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison, who made cases for many Swiss watch manufacturers. The case is in the most beautiful crisp condition.
The watch glass has minor marking but is very acceptable.
The white enamel dial is in lovely condition with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch comes with a silver double albert, with each chain measuring 24cm long. Each of the links has the lion passant silver mark. There is also a silver fob which has been engraved H Cooper, Xmas 1901.
The watch comes in a vintage presentation box from a Llanelly based watchmaker and jeweller. The box is a little tatty but still nice to have.
