Oil Painting Of Shire Horses By Walter Taylor

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Prometheus Antiques

A really interesting oil on board by Walter Taylor 1875-1943. The painting shows two shire horses against a bright thicket and sunset. The work is interesting as Walter Taylor was the Founder member of the London group, influence of which can be seen in this work, he was also close friends with Sickert. Taylor was an accomplished artist in his own right but somewhat eclipsed by other members of the group, however he exhibited widely including the Royal Academy The painting is signed and in excellent condition and mounted in a period frame with modern slip. C.1930.
