This a beautiful shibayama plaque in mother of pearl, bone and carved and lacquer wood set within a very pretty red lacquer frame. The plaque shows an eagle perched upon a tree branch amongst blossoms eyeing a small sparrow type bird. It is set upon black lacquer and the deep red lacquer frame is further decorated with tree blossom.
