A good mid/late 18th century verge ebonised BRACKET CLOCK by George Vadds (?) of London.
The case is ebonised with a cast brass carrying handle above the inverted bell top; four ''pineapple'' finials; gilt brass fretwork ''spandrels'' above the arched door and cast brass bracket feet. The 8-day movement, retains its original verge escapement, with a well-engraved backplate and strikes hours on a bell, with ''Strike/Silent'' in the arch; mock pendulum and date aperture above ''VI''. Full working order and guaranteed for at least two years.
