ANTIQUE #SA401329

Tall Victorian Spelter Lamp

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Lancaster Antiques

Circa 1880-1900, a Victorian spelter lamp that was once an oil lamp converted to electricity many years ago. It was rewired by the previous owner.

The lamp measures 55cm in height; has a 20cm square base with four splayed feet, and the diameter of the bowl is approximately 26cm. It is heavy and well made, and in very good condition with no signs of damage or repair.

There are a lot of fine quality details both in the central part of the lamp and on the base and central column that don''t show up so easily in photographs and we have lightened some images to make them more visible. In reality, it is easy to see the quality of the item and to pick out all the details.

Around the central bowl shape are the profiles of young women''s faces with what appears to be Oak leaves in their hair, and the base is a mix of decorative details.

Postage and packing is included in the price for mainland UK and for remote parts of the UK and abroad, please contact us for a delivery quote.
