A superb pair of 18th Century silver tongs by the sought after Hester Bateman. These fine examples are of shaped form with charming bright cut engraving and wriggle edging. The pads are oval and to the top of the bow is a vacant cartouche. A wonderful and rare collector''s item.

Hallmarks :- Sterling Lion, duty mark and Maker''s mark. No date mark or town mark (not unusual for tongs).
