A superb, very large Egyptian applique-work wall hanging, circa 1920, hand stitched on a cotton/hemp back cloth.
These textile wall hangings were popular tourist souvenirs during the 1920''s & 30''s, particularly following the discovery of Tutankhamum''s tomb in 1922. This is a particularly good example, in excellent condition with colours remaining clear and bright.
