1930’s Signed Litho Of Two Sealyham Terriers

£150    $204    €179
A delightful signed lithograph of two Sealyham terriers by the famous Léon Danchin (21 June 1887 - 4 August 1938) a French artist known for his drawings of animals, primarily sporting dogs. He was also a sculptor.

This picture probably dates from the 1930’s, when Sealyhams were at their height of popularity.

These are so well captured, and, despite the many spots of foxing to the paper, remain extremely attractive and somehow the historical foxing becomes acceptable and part of the picture’s composition. Reasonably priced for the above reason.

They are framed and glazed in their original 1930’s silvered and ‘stepped’ frame, albeit with losses as pictured.
