Collection Of 19th Century Medical Glass Leech Jars C1820

Technical Description
A superb collection of five early 19th century glass leech jars dating to c1820. The collection includes a small pair, the standard personal size, a very fine blue example and a two rare large ''master'' examples which would have held multiple leeches. The clear examples also have folded rims. The leech jars would have had a gauze tied around the rim, preventing escape and allowing for air circulation.
