Stunning Pair Of Bloor Derby Pot Pourri Vases - Excellent Condition C1815

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Art of Quality

This exquisite pair of early 19th-century hand-painted Bloor Derby lidded potpourri pots are a testament to English craftsmanship. Dating back to around 1815, these pots, although unmarked, are believed to be of Derby origin.

Each pot is generously proportioned and adorned with a lavish hand-decorated design in traditional Imari colors, featuring a continuous decoration encircling the body and intricate gilding throughout. The rims are adorned with four projecting lion''s heads, leading to four paw feet on a gracefully shaped inverted base. The circular lids echo the same ornate decoration as the pots themselves.

In superb condition, these pots exhibit no signs of damage or restoration, with only minor wear to the gilding at the highest points, indicative of their age and history. Notably, they bear a blue underglaze ''N'' mark, adding to their provenance.

These highly decorative pieces are a rare find, particularly in such impeccable condition, and would make a stunning addition to any collection or interior setting.
