Antique Silver Rode Watch Company Pocket Watch

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Vintage Wrist Watch Company

Antique silver Rode Watch Company pocket watch.

The watch has a good quality 17-jewel (three adjustments) stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed Rode Watch Company, the name was first registered by Degoumois & Cie SA of Neuchâtel and La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1910. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has a little light scratching where it has been opened in the past.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for Birmingham 1926, with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison, Dennisons was an English watch case maker and supplier to various manufacturers. The case is in lovely condition and has engine turned detail to the back with a central vacant cartouche.

The watch glass looks good to the naked eye, a couple of tiny marks if viewed through a jeweller’s loupe.

The dial is in lovely condition with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
